Kevin Doyle

Kevin Doyle is professor emeritus of Theatre at Utah State University. He earned his BA in Theatre from Saint Louis University and his MFA in Theatre from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. A theatre professional for 30 years, he taught in higher education for 20 years and has been a professional union actor for 30 years. He has appeared in over 125 union stage productions, over 200 union radio and tv commercials, and a handful of small tv and film roles. Instructing mostly in performance, his focus the last 14 years has been contemporary theatre. Doyle has taught twice with Semester At Sea. He is an ongoing fellow with The Sundance Institute’s Theatre Lab, which focuses on the development of new plays, many going to Broadway and all produced professionally. Now living in Denver, he continues to work professionally and lectures and teaches in the Intermountain West.

Bruce Duerdan

Associate Professor of Design for Utah State Theatre for the past 20 years and 18 years with the Old Lyric Repertory Company. During my tenure I have designed, and technical directed numerous productions for companies in Utah, Off Broadway, Hawaii, Wyoming, New Jersey and California. Work includes: Live Theatre: Lighting Design for Legally Blonde, Disney’s Tarzan Lighting and Scenic Design for Thourghly Modern Millie in Hawaii, Lighting for Music Theatre West’s Slipper and the Rose, Disney’s Aladdin and Hair Spray for Tuachan.

Kent Hadfield

Kent Hadfield is a versatile actor who has been acting for over 30 years.  His credits include many independent shorts, promotional trailers and features; web commercials; training videos; radio commercials; and live readings of short stories for public radio. He’s appeared on several stages in northern Utah including Pioneer Theatre Company; Pygmalion Theater Company; Meat and Potato Theater Co.; Wasatch Theater Co.; UFOMT; and Old Lyric Repertory Company. Graduate of U of U’s Actor Training Program.  Member of Chautauqua Conservatory Theater Co.  Proud member of Actor’s Equity Association.

I have a pretty diverse background from opening a bar in college to pay for tuition, to touring with an indie band as a video artist, to working in an internet start-up that went public, to doing VFX, to working on documentaries and low-budget features. The thing this background has taught me is to appreciate all types of people and cultures. I love the small details and differences that make us all unique. I think I have an alternative point of view on most things. My background also gives me a solid sense of what is honest and what feels fake. As a result, I can immediately tell if a scene is working or not, and if not, I’m pretty good at working with the writers and actors to find a solution.

 

My background in the fast-paced, super-tight deadline-oriented world of underfunded low-budget feature films gives me a unique perspective in directing. I seldom if ever get rattled and I thrive on the creative energy that comes from a fast-paced production environment.

Rob Sibley was born and raised in a small Louisiana town. He attended Southeastern Louisiana University and after a mission to Idaho, he studied at BYU. He has a BA and an MFA degree in Communications with an emphasis in Motion Picture and Television production. After college he spent several years working in his own small business and as the Entertainment editor at a Louisiana newspaper. He returned to his first love of filmmaking when he began his career at BYU Broadcasting almost 24 years ago.

Dustin Ward (Spanky)

Born in Ogden, Utah, Dustin Ward aka “Spanky” started working in the film industry in 1999 while finishing his degree at Weber State University. After graduation, he began working for movie projects, while writing his first short film called “Happy Face”, which he later turned into his first two short films called “Number 9″ and “True Story”.

 

In 2000, he worked on his first feature film as an office Production Assistant for the movie “The Crow: Salvation”, starring Kirsten Dunst. Since then ,he’s worked in many different aspects for both feature and short films as well as commercials, all while writing, producing, and directing his own projects. In 2002, he sold a feature length script “The Genesis Project” to Director/Producer Frank E. Johnson. He continues to write feature scripts, short films, commercials, PSA’s, short stories, and novels, one of which is currently being considered for publication. He’s made over 50 short films, commercials, PSA’s, and one music video. He’s won numerous awards for his work including 1st place in the 2006 LDS film festival 24-hour filmmaking contest, 1st place at the Who Likes Short Shorts film festival, and many more.

 

Spanky Ward is currently working on a new novel called “The Q&A Sessions”, while writing/producing and directing his first feature length film, a romantic comedy called “Hello, I Love You”, which will be completed summer of 2014. He also just finished writing a cartoon episode for a new television series called “Adam and the Octopus Club”, which is currently being considered for purchase by a major television network in Canada. Spanky Ward currently resides in Salt Lake City, Utah.

 

Michael Zaccaria

Michael Zaccaria is a writer and a director who has been involved in filmmaking for over ten years. His passion for filmmaking developed while attending Utah State University – College of Eastern Utah. During the college years, Michael was the creator of over fifty short comedy sketches and also co-wrote and directed a feature film at the age of 19.

 

In 2007, Michael attended the Los Angeles Film School in Hollywood, California where he majored in Film Directing and Cinematography. While at LAFS, Michael wrote and directed the short film “The Seventh Circle”, which starred Merik Tadros, an actor who appeared in NICS, Crossing Over, Munich, and The Kingdom.

 

Since returning to Utah, Michael has directed two short films. The first, “Under the Trees”, played at the Queens International Film Festival and the Honolulu International Film Festival where it won an Aloha Accolade Award. The second, “The Pail”, played at the Thriller! Chiller! Film Festival in Ann Arbor Michigan and the Portland Maine Film Festival.
Michael is currently writing a comedy television series and just finished writing his first novel.
